The Japanese pop metal act Babymetal published a cryptic video in early April, the occasion being the start of "Metal Resistance Episode VII". A new era will begin, it says in the almost two and a half minute clip. A voice-over speaks:

"Light and darkness. Contradictory, which at the same time cannot exist without each other. So far we have only experienced the bright side - the legend of the three metal spirits. But there is also an unknown dark side. The legend of the seven metal spirits - the selected seven. We are facing a new era. "

The band has also announced a Blu-ray release of their two concerts on December 2nd and 3rd, 2007 at the Green Arena in Hiroshima entitled LEGEND S - BAPTISM XX.

Babymetal will play in South Korea in 2017 to support Metallica and in Japan for Guns N ’Roses. The three Japanese women can hardly believe their luck.

The limited version contains 16 songs, a live CD and a booklet, but is only reserved for members of the band fan club "The One". However, these performances took place with only two singers.

Yui Mizuno ("Yuimetal") did not feel well at the time, and on the advice of the doctors, she did not perform with Babymetal in Hiroshima. She, Suzuka Nakamoto ("Su-Metal"), and Moa Kikuchi ("Moametal") wear schoolgirl outfits, perform choreographed dances and headbang on stage.

In January there was unfortunately sad news about the Japanese band: Mikio Fujioka crashed from an observatory on December 30, 2017. He died of his injuries on January 5, 2018. The baby metal musician leaves behind a wife and two daughters.
