The 1982 released album Blackout catapulted the Scorpions finally into the hard rock Olympus and is considered today as one of the classics of the genre as well as the iconic artwork of the Austrian artist Gottfried Helnwein. On blackout, the band manages to strike a perfect balance between high-energy hard rock (Blackout, China White, Now, Dynamite) and soulful power ballads (No One Like You, When All's Need Me, When The Smoke Is Going Down). This album has it all: pure aggressiveness, razor sharp guitars, strong emotions and great melodies.
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the band Scorpions, Blackout appears in a newly remastered CD / DVD Deluxe Edition in high-quality digipak. In addition to the original tracklist, there are five of the band selected on the album
unpublished bonus tracks. In addition to an interesting demo version of Blackout, there are with Sugar Man, All My Love, Searching For The Rainbow and Running For The Plane four never heard before songs from the recording sessions. The bonus DVD is waiting with the legendary Appearance of the Scorpions on 17.12.1983 in the Dortmund Westfalenhalle. The concert from the series Rock Pop In Concert, which was broadcast by ZDF at the time, is unpublished so far and shows the band at their best. In addition to the video clips for No One Like You and Arizona, there's another highlight: a 40-minute interview special filmed especially for Blackout, in which the band members talk about the genesis of the album. The package is rounded off by a 16-page booklet with new liner notes by ex-Metalhammer editor-in-chief Edgar Klüsener, some rare photos as well as pictures of backstage passes, tour posters and rare single-covers.
