In the course of their career, the Eagles have really produced some great singles. On the other hand, their albums were often strained and less perfect because of the self-imposed artistic demands.
Hotel California was probably the best album of the band and it underlined the band's claim for great statements. The title reflects the idea of ??lost paradise in California. The musical image is determined by dotted, pearling electric guitars and a dramatic percussion. In addition to this, the probably most famous text line: "You Can Check Out Any Time You Like, But You Can Never Leave". "New Kid In Town" was of the same quality, although more the traditional Eagles ballad. "Life In The Fast Lane" Hardrock tried to be, but shot his powder, without lifting off correctly. The rest is okay, but it was basically no longer a second choice, which had to be accommodated on the album. With Hotel California they consolidated their reputation as a super group of the 70s.
