The legendary progressive Metaler Fates Warning celebrated her 30th anniversary of her third album, Awaken the Guardian, in 2016. It was her last album with singer John Arch. The linup of this era was performed by bassist Joe DiBiase, drummer Steve Zimmerman The current guitarist Frank Aresti and, of course, Jim Matheos. Awaken the Guardian also released the first release of the band, which debuted on the Billboard Charts.

Awaken the Guardian remains one of the most important albums for fans of the band worldwide. Decibel Magazine put it at No. 134 in their Hall of Fame, and each member still speaks with great pride of this record, blown away by the great feedback that it has received since its release 30 years ago.
To celebrate the 30 years since the release of the album, Jim Matheos has brought together the Awaken the Guardian era lineup for two special festival performances: KEEP IT TRUE XIX in Lauda-Konigshofen, Germany and Prog Power USA XVII in Atlanta, GA. Fortunately for fans who could not attend, every show was filmed and recorded!
