"A Knight In York" is the recording of a concert of September 30, 2011 at the Grand Opera House York / England. Richie Blackmore, Candice Night and her band presented mainly songs from their last two albums "Secret Voyage" and "Autumn Sky", "First Of May" by the Bee Gees and some songs from previous albums.

In September 2011, Blackmore's Night in the North-West of York. It is the first time in four years that Ritchie Blackmore appears in his home country; Four years in which two studio albums were released with "Secret Voyage" (2008, place 14 in the German charts) and "Autumn Sky" (2010, place 15). So there is enough material waiting for his live premiere.

"A Knight In York" is the third DVD / CD release of Blackmore's Night, to be held on "Castles And Dreams" (2005) and "Paris Moon" (2007). "A Knight In York" is also more than a mere concert film, because pictures and music form a unity, as few artists produce. While the majority of today's musicians rely on the parameters they have entered, and hardly dare to experiment, Blackmore's Night is a matter of variety and improvisation.
