For more than 30 years, Marillion has been one of the most innovative and musically diverse bands in the English music scene. It would be wrong to reduce the band to their big hit "Kayleigh" and their over 7 million-times sold album "Misplaced Childhood". On the contrary, the British always proved their great versatility, and over the years they kept their unique sound, loved by millions of fans around the world. Not to forget: their incredible Liveshows!
Marillion also continued their successful career with "Sounds That Can not Be Made" (2012) and ranked 29th on the German charts. But much more important: for the fans the album is one of the best of the band. Since 2002, Marillion has organized a very special event every two years. In England, the Netherlands and Canada, the band performs three different music sets each day - consisting of fan favorites, rarities, 20-minute epics or even complete albums. Fans travel from around the world to be part of this event, this fan-family. In 2013, the festival took place in the Niedlanden from 8 to 10 March. The band performed their full length album "Sounds That Can not Be Made" for the first time. In addition to the eight songs of the album, the band also featured five fan favorites: from "This Strange Engine" to "Garden Party", the most successful single from the debut album, every fan wish was heard. Never until very rarely performed, "Garden Party" from the Fish era is considered an absolute highlight of the evening.
It remains, Marillion are epic as ever!
