Almost 14 years after the haunting, emotionally riveting performance by Nirvana during the "MTV Unplugged" series, this milestone will finally be available on DVD. MTV Unplugged In New York (Geffen / MTV Networks / UMe) appears at 16:11 and contains the complete, unabridged 66 minute concert included the then unaired title "Something In The Way" and "Oh Me". In addition, located on MTV Unplugged In New York 5 previously unreleased recordings from the samples to the concert, as well as interviews with the band and the audience in attendance.

On September 18, 1993 filmed at Sony Music Studios, the show was first aired on December 14, 1993, just four months before Kurt Cobain's tragic death. The DVD MTV Unplugged In New York comes in both Dolby stereo and 5.1 surround sound, and includes both versions, the shorter version, as it was sent on MTV, and the whole appearance. When MTV Unplugged In New York in November 1994, appeared on CD, the disc landed at number 1 on the Billboard charts, won the Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album and had already been awarded two years later with 5x platinum.

Rather a carefully made ??selection of songs as a collection of hits, deliver Cobain, bassist Krist Novoselic and drummer Dave Grohl acoustic versions of "About A Girl", "Come As You Are", "Pennyroyal Tea", "Dumb", "Polly "" On A Plain "" Something In The Way "and" All Apologies "from. In 6 additional songs are cover versions, highlight the Nirvana's musical diversity and depth: From David Bowie's "The Man Who Sold The World", on "Jesus Does not Want Me For A Sunbeam" by the Vaselines to traditional folk song "Where Did You Sleep Last Night". With "Plateau", "Oh Me" and "Lake Of Fire" there are three songs of the Meat Puppets, supporting their front men Curt and Cris Kirkwood Nirvana in these songs. Also see and hear during the performance Nirvana tour guitarist Pat Smear, co-founder of the legendary U.S. punk band The Germs and recurrent guitarist for the Foo Fighters. Been added to the DVD is the MTV News Feature "Bare Witness", the interviews with the band, staff and fans of MTV contains from the audience. Also as a bonus there are records of "Come As You Are", "Polly", "Plateau", "Pennyroyal Tea" and "The Man Who Sold The World", derived from the samples to the concert.
