DeScRiPtiON:
A welcome return to what Stereo Sushi does best...good quality soulful house tunes. I have every Stereo Sushi compilation apart from no5 as its overloaded with too much Latin so I'm happy that Mark Doyle is going back to basics.
This compilation contains some real nuggets: Reel People & Vanessa Freeman - The Light, Jay J - Fantasy and Soul Dhamma - If we could fly. CD2 contains the best track of them all...Simon Grey's - Prophecy. A great funky US Garage track.
Which leads me to why I gave this compilation and no3 only 4 stars and not 5. A lot of the tracks are simply not deep tunes. They are US Garage tracks. I would like to see Mark Doyle be far more adventorous and venture out to other producers and artists. There are some fantastic new labels such as 3am recordings who are simply producing wonderful funky, soulful but more importantly DEEP house and garage tracks.
Peace
