Source...............: CDDAhe brilliant title track. The battering of guitars and drums works perfectly and will undoubtedly ignite any slam pit. Mortally Wounded features an blistering breakdown and sizeable dueling solos a la Megadeth but with more of a Kerry King/Jeff Hanneman feel. The aggressive “Poserslaughter” is a timeless metal anthem that harkens back to the days when bands used to write songs about the fledgling metal scene. And when you hear “Terminate’s” mid-song scream, you’ll hear the best of Tom Araya.

Both “Sadistic Inquisitor” and “Assassins” have that early epic thrash feel with long intro leading into a blazing anthems of war, disdain and destruction all wrapped up in an undulant riff-fest.

The production perfectly fits the retro-feel of Death Brigade. While the music is crisp, it doesn’t have that overproduced feel, or that chunky deepness of some current albums. Eric’s vocals are spot on and have a great raspy snarl. My only complaint is that the bass could be a wee bit more audible and drummer Shannon needs to juice things up just a tad. Oh, and that cover art from Joe Petagno actually sums up the album’s vibe perfectly.

Death Brigade is a marching molten slab of metal and Avenger of Blood proves to be no-frills, blue-collar thrash stalwarts. While not breaking any new ground or genre barriers, Death Brigade is a sonic cluster bomb in a thrash revival ground assault.
