Aufgenommen in Brooklyn und Nashville wird "Angels Of Destruction" der Band zum endgültigen Durchbruch verhelfen..

Plain and simple, FUNNY MONEY has been able to pick right up from where KIX left off. Tracks like “Slow The Blow” and the opening track “By The Balls” are hard hitting, in-your-face rockers in the vein of KIX’s “No Ring Around Rosie” while “Weeds and Roses” and “Big Bam Boom” have more of a bluesy feel to them.

“Fool’s Confession” is really interesting because it almost has the vibe of STEELY DAN’s “Midnight Cruiser.” Not that it sounds like STEELY DAN, but if you listen real close, you can definitely hear hints of that rhythm and arrangement.

“Thousand Thanks Yous” could be considered the releases only ballad… although its lyrics suggest more of an homage to the fans rather than your typical love theme. Then there’s “All Tied Up” which I really like for its underlying melody, guitar riff and overall groove and finally “Hot On Your Heels,” “Play Me Like A Rhythm,” “Crush,” and “About Women” are all solid, mid-tempo rockers which remain consistent with that whole overall KIX style.

KIX fans are absolutely going to LOVE this and “STICK IT!” has everything you’ve come to expect from Steve Whiteman. It’s great to see you back, Steve, and you’ve once again proven you’re still one of the most explosive and energetic front men in the business. From the dynamic hooks & melodies to the sometimes “suggestive” lyrics, “STICK IT!” is a welcomed addition to any rockers CD collection.öten würden. ‘Marry Song’ zollt dann der Country-Blues-Ballade Tribut und ein derartiger Song entsteht halt auch eher in South Carolina als in Seattle, oder?

Zum Abschluß von “Cease To Begin” – sehr passender Albumtitel übrigens – wird zunächst ‘Cigarettes, Wedding Bands’ kredenzt, der zu den absolut stärksten Momenten zählt, den die Musikgeschichte erlebt hat. Klar neige ich jetzt vielleicht zu einiger Übertreibung und Euphorie und ich weiß nicht, ob ich mich freue, dass diese Band nur sehr wenigen Menschen vorbehalten bleiben wird, oder mich ärgern, dass das so ist?
Mit ‘Window Blues’ entlassen uns Band Of Horses dann und sorgen dafür, dass man am Ende des Albums erstmal eine 10-minütige Gedenkpause einlegen muß, bevor man dieses monumentale Stück Musik wieder und wieder hören muß.

“Cease To Begin” und natürlich auch sein Vorgänger haben uns eine Band von einem anderen Stern gebracht oder kann South Carolina einen derartigen Einfluß auf die Kunst einer Band haben? Ich wünsche mir, dass Band Of Horses sehr, sehr lange neue Songs schreiben werden, denn diese Gefühle dürfen einfach nicht aufhören.igt uns abermals die rockigere Seite dieser Formation, bevor erneut todtrauriger, melodiöser Doom in Reinkultur in Form von 'You Leave Me Cold' den Raum erfüllt.

An das Ende dieser Scheibe haben VENI DOMINE dann die beiden längsten Nummern gestellt. 'Tree Of Life' offeriert dabei die mannigfaltige Ausführung des gesamten Klangbildes dieser Band auf imposante Art.
