The Parlor Mob, formerly known as What About Frank, released their debut CD, "As You Were a Crow" last week. Lead singer Mark Melicia, teamed with guitarists Dave Rosen and Paul Ritchie, bassist Nick Villapiano, and drummer Sam Bey, successfully created a sound that is both unique and hard headed.
The band features chord progressions rooted in blues in song "Hard Times." In "Tide of Tears," a guitar solo slowly peaks and comes crashing home, reminiscent of Led Zeppelin.
In the chorus of the final song, "Can't Keep No Good Boy Down," Melicia sings, "this train is leaving, it's rolling down the track, singing ain't no turning back."
Really though, who would want to turn back when you have already taken your first step towards greatness? For those who are not aware of it yet, with new bands such as The Parlor Mob, real rock 'n' roll is officially back.
If you're looking for some serious Rock, like, old school Rock, look no further. Takin' it to town with everything that makes you feel like headbangin', The Parlor Mob even make sure to take it the acoustic rock route with the last track. Super nice because there's nothing like finishing on a note like that.
