Frank Breuninger (vocals), Steffen Doll (guitar), Winny Zurek (bass), Claudio Nobile (keyboards), Uwe Mayer (drums)
Schwäbischen Melodic Heavy Metal act DARK SKY was created in Rotteil as a school act during 1982, making their first impressions with a 1989 demo tape 'Living In Eternity'. This session garnered the band national attention when it won the 'Das Sprungbrett' talent contest. However, in 1990 the defection of two key members prompted the band's downfall, and in 1992 DARK SKY disbanded.
The following year, founder Frank Breuninger resurrected the group, enrolling guitarist Ashes and keyboard player Claudio Nobile then a rhythm section of Winny Zurek on bass and Uwe Mayer on drums. In 1997, working producer Nik Herb, the band records the 'Believe It' album. Initially an Asian deal was struck, seeing the record released on 31st August 1998 in Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore and Indonesia. In 1999 DARK SKY signed a domestic contract with Speyer based Goodlife Records to issue 'Believe It' throughout Europe in 2000.
DARK SKY entered Wiesbaden's Bazement Studios to craft their second opus in April of 2002. Studio gursts included former DARK SKY guitarist Steffen Doll and singer Jojo Nimtz. Upon completion, Ashes decamped and Steffen Doll was duly re-instated. That November the band traversed Germany on a series of live dates allied with TWYSTER. A third album, 'Living & dying' produced by Markus Teske, arrived in March 2005. That December DARK SKY acted as support to THUNDER's German tour.
