A thought provoking and technically challenging Progressive Rock act out of Detroit founded in February of 1993. Their debut, simply titled 'Tiles', created waves on the underground Metal scene prompting licensing offers from Dream Circle in Europe and Teichiku in Japan. 'Fence The Clear', released in the Spring of 1997 increased both the band's profile and sales. Japanese variants added extra material in the form of demo outaakes, one of which 'No Failure', would be re-visited for TILES third album re-titled as 'Facing Failure'.
To promote the Terry Brown produced 'Presents Of Mind' album TILES lent support to DREAM THEATER's November 1999 dates. 'Presents Of Mind's assorted international variations witnessed a whole slew of extra tracks. North American editions boasted live in the studio tracks whilst Japanese copies came with an outtake 'Ambition' from the debut album.
The band would spend much of 2001 working with producer Terry Brown on a projected album provisionally billed as 'Window Dressing'. The record finally emerged in the Spring of 2004. Original drummer Mark Evans returned to the fold in October 2005.
