SALAMANDRA describe themselves as Gothic Power Metal. The group was conceived in Šenov by guitarist Pavel Silva of REA SYLVIA and ARKUS notoriety. For the January 1999 ‘Twilight Of Legends’ album SALAMANDRA comprised of GROG vocalist Dalibor ‘Panther’ Halamicek, guitarists Pavel Silva and Karel Øepecký, PUNISHMENT bassist Ales Klimsa and EUTHANASIA keyboard player Marek Lankoci. Session drums would be delivered by one ‘Blackcount Baalberith’, a.k.a. Daniel Jurecek.
Jarda Dufek replaced Klimsa on bass for the December 2000 conceptual follow up ‘Skarremar’. SALAMANDRA would commit their version of ‘Judas’ to the HELLOWEEN tribute album ‘The Eastern Pumpkin’. A third album, 'Great Moravian Elegies', arrived in May 2004. By this juncture SALAMANDRA featured Hanka Šlachtová in the keyboard role.
