Riihimaki Heavy Rock band WIDESCREEN MODE was formulated during the early 90s by then 15 year old drummer Janne Aaltonen and 16 year old friend Janne Lahtinen on guitar billed initially as AGGRESSIVE INFLUENCE. During In 1993, vocalist Samu Brusila and bassist Janne Stenroos enrolled as the group took on a fresh title of FAIRLANE. This act folded but would subsequently regroup under the title WIDESCREEN MODE.

Working with producer Jani Loikas at Cursed Studio WIDESCREEN MODE debuted with a November 2004 EP 'Hello World'. Kim Högberg provided backing vocals. The same team was used for the November 2005 follow up 'Another Day'. Dark Sentiments released the full-length album 'Until The End' in November 2007.

Widescreen Mode's first single "Everlasting Bomb" ruled the official Finnish download chart for several weeks this summer and was #1 on iTunes for an incredible 14 weeks from June 29 until October 12. "We just wanted to make the record that we always dreamed about," says singer Samu Brusila. "Until the End" was mixed by Anssi Kippo, who has engineered gold-certified (in Finland) albums for Children Of Bodom and Finnish "Idols" winner Hanna Pakarinen. "Anssi didn't try to hide his excitement," Brusila says. "It was very easy to trust in his opinion. Anssi put in a lot of long days and nights to take the album to the next level."

From "Burning", with its sinister bass line, to the turbulent, politically charged "We Don't Need Your War", this is a record that could only be written by one band, with one singular worldview. "We write from the heart, with our eyes open to the world," says Brusila. Adds drummer Janne Aaltonen, "Love and war are the most sacred and serious conflicts in our society. I wish we could sing about love and peace, but I don't see a lot of peace in our world today."
