Back in the 80’s there were so many great (and not so great) bands, that it was easy to get lost in the shuffle. Black ‘N Blue was one of those bands that never really got their due. Despite the formidable talents of frontman Jaime St. James, guitarists Tommy Thayer and Jeff Warner, Patrick Young (bass) and Peter Holmes (drums), Black ‘N Blue never made it big. They scored several radio hits, toured with big names like Kiss and Aerosmith and built a solid fan base.
The band disbanded in 1989 but never officially broke up. Today, St. James is the vocalist for Warrant, and Thayer has gone on to play Ace Frehley’s role in Kiss. Rarities is a collection of classic demos (including “Hold On to 18” and “Wicked Bitch”) and live rockers, salvaged and re-mastered from St. James’ original cassette recordings. It also includes his 2002 Hell Yeah demos. This is a cool blast from the past for Black ‘N Blue fans.
