LINE UP

Michael Vescara (vocals), Eduardo Ardanuy (guitar), Andria Busic (bass), Ivan Busic (drums)

A renowned Brazilian Heavy Metal outfit centred upon the dextrous talents of guitarist Eduardo Ardanuy. DR. SIN was created by a union of Ardanuy, a veteran of A CHAVE DO SOL and SUPLA, along with the Busic siblings bassist Andria and drummer Ivan. Both brothers had journeyed through acts such as PLATINA in 1985, CHEROKEE in 1987 and WANDER TAFFO in 1988. The pair would also feature on the 1991 TAFFO album 'Rosa Branca'.

DR. SIN's eponymous debut, recorded for Warner Music in America with the noted producer Stefan Galfas at the helm, would arrive in 1993 followed by 'Brutal', again laid down in the USA, this time with producer Johnny Montagnese, in 1995. DR. SIN would support a whole stream of visiting acts including L7, NIRVANA, BLACK SABBATH, AC/DC, GILLAN and KISS.

The act was quick to carve out a reputation as one of the most accomplished Brazilian acts and as such would open shows for visiting artists like DREAM THEATER, SCORPIONS and DIO in 1997. The band would also boost their numbers to a quartet with the introduction of ex-OBSESSION, LOUDNESS and YNGWIE MALMSTEEN singer Mike Vescera. Not only did the American produce their third album 'Insinity' but he would follow up the union by appearing in a live capacity as guest vocalist.

The following year would not only have DR. SIN guesting for YNGWIE MALMSTEEN but also landing the almost unique honour of having their live set 'Alive' included as a double package with the Swedish star's own 'Live In Brazil' opus. Other gigs included dates with QUIET RIOT. The previous studio outing 'Insinity' would also be granted a Japanese release through the Pony Canyon label, albeit with a completely revised track listing.

The 'Brutal' album would be re-issued in Japan during 1996 but re-titled 'Silent Scream'. Ardanuy would take time out to undertake the TRITONE project in collusion with Frank Solari and Sergio Buss. In 2000 Vescera renewed his relationship with the band being drafted as a full time member for the 'Dr. Sin II' album. 'Dr. Sin II' was retitled 'Shadows Of Light' for an American release in 2001.

Andria Busic would join ANGRA then Progressive Metal band KARMA but would decamp in August 2001. Eduardo Ardanuy would add guest sessions to the 2002 BLEZQI ZATSAZ project album 'The Tide Turns' of SHAMAN keyboard player Fabio Riberio. He would also feature on Mike Vescera's MVP album 'The Altar'.

DR. SIN took a quite unique approach for their December 2005 album 'Listen To The Doctors'. The album comprised entirely of cover versions of famous tracks including the "Doctor" title, such as 'Calling Dr. Love' by KISS, 'Rock n' Roll Doctor' by BLACK SABBATH, 'Doctor Doctor' by UFO, 'I Don't Need No Doctor' by HUMBLE PIE, 'Dr. Rock' by MOTÖRHEAD, 'Dr. Feelgood' by MÖTLEY CRÜE, 'Just What The Doctor Ordered' by TED NUGENT and more.

Eduardo Ardanuy sessioned on the debut ALMAH solo album project of ANGRA lead singer Eduardo Falaschi in early 2006.
