Palmerston North Thrash orientated Metal band founded in 1996. Bassist Ryan, following on from formative four-stringers Chris and Simon, the latter's term lasting just one day, holds BACKYARD BURIAL credentials. MONSTERWORKS debuted in July 1998 with the demo 'Dormant', with 'Delusions Of Grandeur' following in August 1999. The group made their commercial inauguration with the 2001 opus 'Dimensional Urgency', after which Brock relocated to the UK. He would be superseded by Nathan Forbes, having originally made his mark with technical Death Metal act FALCIFORM and holds credits with the experimental Black Metal band ZIRCONIUM as well as DEMIURGE and DRACO AERIUS. MONSTERWORKS followed up with a March 2002 album 'Rogue', issued through Eat Lead And Die Music. The album was recorded in two stages, at The Stomach Studios in Palmerston North during October 2001 and the second at C. Moore Sound in Wellington in February 2002. That March, MONSTERWORKS played their final New Zealand gig.

The band relocated from New Zealand to take up residence in London, England, soon re-enlisting Brock and recording the 'M-Theory' album with the services of a session drummer. Sterghios Moschos took command of the drums in July 2004 but had vacated by the following June. In July the band put in an appearance at the 'Dungeonfest 555' festival at The Royal Park Cellars in Leeds. Casket Records issued the MONSTERWORKS album 'The Precautionary Principle' in 2006.

Mid 2007 saw the release of a new album 'Spacial Operations'.
