Sydney's DAYSEND have enjoyed a rapid rise from their 2003 inception. As antecedent act PSI-KORE's career drew to a close in early 2002 erstwhile DEPRESSION, DEADSPAWN and INFERNAL METHOD guitarist Aaron Bilbija enrolled into the ranks that January. Although the recording of a full length album was intended PSI.KORE folded before hitting the studio. Subsequently, Bilbija, bass player Meredith Webster and drummer Matt Lamb all re-grouped as DAYSEND in collaboration with ex-AUTOMATION rhythm guitarist and INFERNAL METHOD bassist Michael Kordek and REDSANDS vocalist Simon Calabrese. Lamb would later be usurped by another DEPRESSION and DEADSPAWN veteran, Wayne Morris.
Live work in Australia to promote the debut Chatterbox Records offering 'Severance', produced by D.W. Norton and Nik Tropiano and issued in December of 2003, has seen high profiles supports to SKINLAB, THE HAUNTED and STRAPPING YOUNG LAD.
2004 started with a bang as the listeners of Triple J voted 'Severance' as the best Australian Metal release in 2003. Uniting with ENTOMBED the band undertook Easter dates dubbed as the 'Another Nail in the Cross' tour. DAYSEND would see 'Severance' signed to Metal Blade Records for North American release. Further Australian touring found the band partnering with Hardcore act STRONGER THAN HATE for shows in October. DAYSEND marked their US live debut with Summer 2005 nationwide touring in alliance with OTEP, GIZMACHI, MANNTIS and DEVILINSIDE. The group, being rejoined by guitarist Michael Kordek, recorded and filmed their 10th December gig at the Marquee Club in Sydney for a live DVD/CD.
DAYSEND paid tribute to late PANTERA and DAMAGEPLAN guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott with their rendition of 'I'm Broken' being donated to 'The Art Of Shredding - A Tribute To Dime' assembled by DarkStar Records.
DAYSEND parted ways with vocalist Simon Calabrese in May 2006.
