Death Metal band COMPOS MENTIS came together in January 1996, initially as, under their own admission, a METALLICA jam band. By 1998 a Black and Death Metal slant was evident, confirmed on the debut April 1999 demo 'Vulturous'. The band then added the keyboards of Bo Damgaard Christensen to the line-up, this version of the band bowing in with the track 'Brave And Lonely' included on the Serious Entertainment label 'Extremity Rising Vol. 4'. A further self-financed effort 'Quadrology Of Sorrow', issued in October 2000, would score a deal with the Lost Disciple label. COMPOS MENTIS would prepare a debut album 'Fragments Of A Withered Dream' during 2002 for release in January the following year.
Completing a new album entitled 'Gehennesis', the band inducted Ken Holst from ADVERSARY as new guitarist during July 2006. Keyboard player Bo Damgaard closed a seven year tenure in September, bowing out "due to lack of time".
COMPOS MENTIS projected the 'Gehennesis' album for 2007 release through Mighty Music. Shortly afterwards the group announced the addition of keyboard player Rune Klausen to the ranks.
