LINE UP

Sean Peck (vocals), Dave Garcia (guitar), Anthony Wayne McGinnis (guitar), Mike Giordano (bass), Mike Nielsen (drums)

Much vaunted San Diego Power Metal act CAGE has carved out a valuable niche in the European market. The band was bravely forged as a no frills Metal unit by a union of ex-CRUSHER and NOMAD personnel in 1992 in the full teeth of the Grunge wave. CAGE recorded a projected first album in 1994 but this release was shelved. The 'Unveiled' album, issued by Omega Records, would see CAGE with a line-up of vocalist Sean Peck, guitarists Dave Garcia and Eric Horton, bassist Mike Giodano and drummer Damian Arletto. CAGE honed their reputation further, acting as guests to acts such as DIO, IRON MAIDEN, JUDAS PRIEST and DOKKEN.

During 1999, and unbeknown to the band, a German Metal journalist named Jurgen Tschmaler entered CAGE into an unsigned band contest for the prestigious 'Rock Hard' magazine. The first prize was to perform at the 'Dynamo Open Air' festival in Holland. CAGE not only won the contest, voted by for by Rock fans and beating over 600 other acts, but also won by a huge majority. CAGE, who also saw their 'Shoot To Kill' song featured as the lead cut on a Rock Hard' cover mount CD, duly performed at the Dynamo event with drummer Mike Nielsen newly on board, headlined that year by METALLICA.

With interest riding high in Europe CAGE secured appearances at the legendary 'Wacken Open Air' Metal festival in Germany followed up by a showing at the Swiss 'Metal Dayz' event. The 'Astrology' album, released on Los Angeles World War III Records, would be re-issued in September to back up the dates.

Anthony Wayne McGinnis would take the place of Eric Horton on guitar. CAGE signed to the German Massacre label for a July 2002 release 'Darker Than Black', produced by Joe Floyd of WARRIOR fame. The band would get back onto the live circuit in the Summer of 2004 with US headline shows, an appearance at the 'Bang Your Head' festival in Germany and a support to W.A.S.P. in San Diego. A further valuable gig appearance came in November, with CAGE's inclusion on the billing for the 'Monterrey Metal Fest' alongside DIO, TWISTED SISTER, DOKKEN, QUIET RIOT, SHAMAN and HATEBREED. The following month the band supported the SCORPIONS and TESLA for a two night run at the Universal Amphitheater in Los Angeles.

CAGE's rhythm section of bassist Mike Giordano and drummer Mikey Neil was loaned out to ex-ANTHRAX singer NEIL TURBIN's appearance at the 2005 'Monterrey Metal Fest'. CAGE, signing to new imprint Destroy All Records Entertainment, recorded the 'Hell Destroyer' album at Richard Carr Studios in San Diego, California. MTM Records took the album on for a European release in May 2007.

CAGE booked the "Hell Destroyer Over Mexico" tour to open 2007.
