HinweiseTHERE have been several attempts to repackage the work done by the Manc-born singer-songwriter before the success of White Ladder, but this is perhaps the most coherent, drawing from his first three albums and including songs such as Shine, which are favourites of his live set.
The voice is a little more raw, perhaps braver and edgier than now, and the songs a little more Dylanesque, all tastefully gilded, but earnest strumalongs at heart.
