HinweiseComing to the public's attention via the Sky EP series with the sublime 'Freedub' the band (in the true sense of the word) later followed this up with the 'Smoothie' EP, demonstrating a further progression in their ability to combine live improvisation with electronics and studio editing techniques. Their debut album 'Foundation' quickly followed and received great critical acclaim. Musically speaking their tracks often have an atmospheric/cinematic feel which is possibly due to the fact that the band have a fascination with Clint Eastwood films ' rumour has it that there is a hidden master tape of tracks that could not be cleared due to the number of classic bon mots they had lifted from Dirty Harry& As a band Bluprint is very much a collective effort with everyone contributing elements to the mix. Their follow up album, 'Sleeping Giant', is finally ready for release and will be preceded by the release of their single 'Ruby' (which has been remixed by Gerd) in early 2005. As with all artists, Bluprint's sound has progressed, further developing their flair for cool electronica and eclectic improvisation. Their music includes live drums, guitars, keys and a host of samples and electronic wizardry. This second album features more vocals than Foundation. The fusion of lyrics with their sound is a natural match. Their sound conjures up visual imagery and has depth and emotion layered through out. Their live shows have also seen some major developments, with live drums adding an extra twist and bringing some funk to their already strong mixture.
